Preparing homework is a joint practice of teachers internationally. However, we know little about the perceptions of teachers of the qualities of good homework. This article reports on the findings of a study, which examines the perception of teachers in the preservation of teachers of good homework and their beliefs about the effectiveness of homework as a teaching and learning tool. Data was collected in two stages: a survey with 279 teachers of elementary school; And follow-up interviews with 11 of the participants who have completed the survey, including the collection of homework that assign them. The first data source focused on the practices and beliefs of teachers at the homework, while the second source in terms of their practices prepared a deeper understanding of the beliefs of the teachers. The article represents the excellent findings regarding the perception of teachers in relation to the qualities of good homework activities as well as contextual factors that restrict the ability of teachers to assign good homework.
